Dr. Chisholm-Smith was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas where she received her early education at Xavier's Lower School and St. Augustine's College.

Dr. Joanne Cunningham is a U.K. trained paediatrician with 26 years of experience.
She obtained a BSc with Honours in Zoology and Biochemistry from the University of the West Indies ,St. Augustine,Trinidad and then obtained a scholarship from the Pan American Health Organization(PAHO)
to do a Master of Science Degree in Immunology at the University of Amsterdam, Holland.
She entered Medical school in 1982 at the University of The West Indies, Mona, Jamaica and graduated
in 1987. She went on to do her internship at the Port of Spain General Hospital in Trinidad and worked
as a Senior House Officer in Paediatrics for 2 years.
She came to the Bahamas in 1992 and worked at the Princess Margaret Hospital as a Senior House
Officer in Paediatrics for 3 years before going on to do her Postgraduate Paediatric Studies in the United
She gained her extensive paediatric experience at Guy’s Hospital ,London, at King’s College Hospital ,
London and at The Hospital For Sick Children,Great Ormond Street in London.
In the Bahamas, she worked in Private Practice with Consultant Paediatrician Dr. Paul Roberts for a
number of years. She also worked in the Public Sector at the Ministry of Health, Department of Public
Health and was responsible for Paediatric Services at the South Beach Clinic for 8 years.
She is presently based at The Walk-In Clinic on Carmichael Road where she specializes in Primary Care
Paediatrics and focuses on Primary Prevention with her emphasis being on Education, Growth and
Developmental Assessments , Immunizations and all childhood diseases.
Her main aim is the delivery of Quality Primary Care with the ultimate goal of reducing hospitalizations
of children to reduce the cost of Tertiary Care.
Her Motto is - ‘QUALITY CARE FOR GOD’S LITTLE MIRACLES’.
Electa Lloyd began her nursing career in October 1981.She has been employed by the Walk in Medical Clinic since October 2nd 2002.

"I enjoy being a Nurse, rendering care to the sick or just educating persons on ways to live a normal, happy and healthy life. It was always rewarding see persons leaving the clinic looking and feeling better also pleased with the care and service they have received from us while in our care. "
Dr. Chisholm-Smith was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas where she received her early education at Xavier's Lower School and St. Augustine's College. She then went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Macalester College in Minnesota. She received her Medical Doctorate degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. She did specialty training in Pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida and received board certification with the American Board of Pediatrics in 2007. Dr. Chisholm-Smith has been practicing Pediatrics in the Bahamas since 2007 and has extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient Pediatrics.
